Gail horse training Gail training

Training horses and their riders is a very important part of Gail's business.

Gail Rayher has 30 years of experience, working with horses of any age and breed. (She's even trained a few mules).

Just like people, horses can develop bad habits or get lazy. It is important to continually work with a horse if the rider wants the horse to mature as a mount.
Gail is always looking for the best way to communicate with each individual horse and then share the information with its rider.

Whether she's dealing with a baby or an adult horse, Gail always starts all training with Ground Training which helps develop foundation for a good relationship between the horse and trainer.

Gail also uses "Dressage for every horse" techniques by Jane Savoie as a basic training for every discipline.

Horses in training are worked five days a week exclusively by Gail.

All horses are taken out on the trail; Gail is a firm believer that this keeps show horses winning.

Training fee is $700.00/month (including board)

Minimum training period is 30 days.

"It's a mind game," Gail says about riding and jumping,
"Horses have to be obedient but they don't come that way. Horses should be trained daily, but they also need rest and relaxation. You have to know when to work them and when to take them out on the trail and let them clear their heads, so they don't sour on what they are doing. Horses are just like people, they just don't come with as much baggage."
